Episode Descriptions

Episode #1 - Hug me, Brother

Drake and Josh both find out that Drake's Mom, and Josh's Dad, get married to each other unexpectedly. Drake finds it completely wrong. And Josh on the other hand is really excited. Right as Drake things his life is miserable, things get better. He discovers that Josh is actually Miss Nancy, a person who gives advice in the school newspaper.

After reading one of Josh's Miss Nancy letters, Drake discovers that Tiffany (the girl he likes) is having trouble with her boyfriend. Drake uses this advantage to go on a date with her. But Tiffany's real boyfriend gets things confused, and thinks Josh is dating Tiffany! Now Josh must study to be excellent at karate before Tiffany's boyfriend scars him for life.

Episode #2 - Dune Buggy

In this episode, one of Drake's friends, Trevor, gives him a dune buggy, which Drake and Josh spend their time fixing up. Later on, Josh throws a pillow at Drake, which hits a glass of soda on top of the television set. The soda causes the TV circuits to break. Drake tells Josh to lie about it. However, when Audrey questions him about it later on, Josh confesses what happened to the TV and is grounded for lying about it.

Drake and Josh fix the dune buggy, but their parents won't let them take it to drive it at that time. Instead, they offer to let the boys drive it when they go on vacation at the lake if they wear helmets, bubble wrap, and have parental supervision. Drake tries to persuade Josh to ride the dune buggy without permission, but Josh is afraid of getting caught. Ultimately, Drake and Trevor decide to take the dune buggy out, but they only drive a short distance before crashing into a tree.

The accident sends Drake to the hospital. He spends much of the episode trying to walk without letting Josh or his parents know what happened. Later, Josh answers the phone to find out that Drake left his wallet in the emergency room, and that is when Josh notices the wrecked dune buggy. He then persuades Walter to teach him wrestling moves to use on Drake, although he knows that Drake is injured.

Finally, Drake admits to his family that he took out the dune buggy without their permission and got into an accident. Josh is giddy that Drake finally gets grounded, but Drake doesn't learn his lesson; Josh brings him pizza and he spends his days in bed resting and playing guitar.

Episode #3 - Believe me, Brother

The episode starts with Megan putting a paintball in a cupboard which Drake and Josh open.

Drake's new girlfriend Susan starts hitting on Josh. Josh tries to give Susan the benefit of the doubt, even going to his parents for advice, but it is clearly evident that Susan likes both brothers. When Drake catches them, Susan makes it seem like Josh is the one hitting on her.

Meanwhile, for a school project, Drake makes a music video which is directed by Josh. Using the same camera, Megan begins spying on people doing embarrassing things, including Susan flirting with Josh. She also videotapes Josh in the bathtub, in which he sings, "Shaving in the bathtub." When Drake presents his music video to the class, Megan's video appears. After seeing Susan put the moves on Josh, Drake finally believes that his brother was telling the truth about Susan all along. They later tell Megan that they are not happy about what she did to their project, but in the end they said thanks because it helped them that Josh was telling the truth about Susan, although they never mention Susan to Megan.

They then get even with Susan by putting a paintball in her locker.

Episode #4 - Two Idiots and a Baby

Josh offers to babysit Walter's boss's baby son while Walter, Audrey, Walter's boss, and Walter's boss's wife go to a restaurant. But Josh soon regrets offering to babysit for the baby. Who knew a baby could be so much trouble? Josh is sure that things can't get worse when Drake leaves the babysitting job to go to a band gig--but it does. Josh called Drake and Drake came as soon as possible, because he knew the baby was his responsibility too.

Episode #5 - First Crush

Josh promises his crush, Kathy, that he will play the guitar at her birthday party at the Brew Note, a restaurant. However, Josh cannot play the guitar, and subsequently asks Drake for advice. Meanwhile, Drake and his band are banned from the Brew Note by the owner (who is Josh's karate teacher) after Megan's pet snake scares the customers.

At the party, Josh wears a special jacket that enables Drake to play behind a curtain with his arms in the jacket, while it appears to be Josh doing all the work. Josh tells the truth near the end. The next day, Kathy opens her locker to reveal a portrait of her made by Josh. Wondering how his painting got in her locker, he asks Drake, who tells him that he put it there.

Episode #6 - Grammy

The episode begins with the parents of Drake and Josh leaving, and Josh's grandmother (Randee Heller) coming to visit. Though Josh loves "Grammy", as she is called, Drake does not. He would rather go to a concert that he and his friends have been looking forward to than stay with her. Grammy forbids Drake from going to the concert, as his parents did not give him permission. Drake and Grammy argue, and then decide to settle it in a game of basketball, which Drake wins.

Next, Drake's friends sneak in with tickets, and sneak Drake out to the concert. At the concert, it is discovered that the tickets are photocopied, and Drake and friends get brought to jail. Grammy bails him out, and says that they should play another game of basketball. If Drake wins, nobody will tell what Drake did, but if Grammy wins, Drake will tell what he did. At the game of basketball, Drake and Grammy take turns get points, until they get 4 points as a tie.

When Drake and Grammy gets four points each, Grammy shoots a basket, and she wins the game of basketball. When Drake and Josh's parents came home, Drake is going to tell the whole story until Grammy interrupts and tells them that he lost the game instead. In the end, Drake likes Josh's grandmother.

~~Episode Summaries~~

Episode #1 - The Bet

Drake and Josh are supposed to pick Megan up from her friend's house. Drake gets too involved in eating junk and Josh forgets about it while playing his video game. Megan ends up coming home soaked from the rain, and Drake and Josh get grounded for forgetting to pick her up. Drake bets Josh that he could stay without junk food longer than Josh could stay without video games as a result of this. Megan insists they sign a contract, which says that whoever gives up must dye their hair pink. Drake and Josh are doing very well until Drake develops a sudden rash because of the change in diet and Josh's "Grammy" sends him the latest Gamesphere. Drake and Josh try many ways to make the other give up, until finally, they both give up, whereupon they both dye their hair pink, as well as their parents', as they had bet on who would give up first. However, Drake just gets a pink wig, which he takes off before going to school.

#2 Guitar

Drake hears of a radio contest in which the winner receives a guitar signed by the lead singer of his favorite band, Zero Gravity. He invites all of his classmates to a cell-phone party, where everyone will call the radio station to try to win. His sister Megan wins, and promises that she will let Drake keep the guitar, and the concert tickets that go with it, as long as Drake promises to do her math homework for a week. He agrees. To win the contest, Drake must answer the question "What is the 8th planet from the sun?" The answer, which Drake gets from Josh, is Neptune.

Drake gets the guitar and the tickets. Josh, showing the instrument to Megan, accidentally sets it on fire after plugging it in to a faulty amplifier, and must buy Drake a new one with his life savings, which is $1,200. So that Drake doesn't notice the difference, he also tries to get the singer Devon Malone to autograph it. Drake catches Josh in the act of trying to get the signature. Josh breaks Malone's hand, and Drake must play the concert because he was the only one backstage who knew the guitar parts to their songs.

The next day, the manager of Zero Gravity visits Drake to give him his payment, $1,250, a payment that neither one expected. Drake chooses to give Josh the money in payment for buying the guitar for him, and answering the trivia question. Josh's response to the money: "I'm gettin' me a tanning bed!"

Drake begins to get used to being a temporary rock star when Megan reminds him that he still owes her a week worth of math homework.

#3 Movie Job

Josh surprises Drake by announcing that he got a job at the local movie theater, The Premiere. Drake, jealous of the high pay, decides to get a job there as well. Drake, an instant favorite with his boss, Helen, receives a coveted job as Assistant Manager, angering Josh.

Josh, wanting his boss to notice him, comes up with an idea to drum up business and increase interest in popcorn sales; however, the promotion backfires, and people are hurt fighting over popcorn buckets in an attempt to get the golden balls that award the bearer free movies for a month. Paramedics are called in, and Helen demands to know who was responsible for the incident. Rather than allowing Josh to be fired, Drake lies and implicates himself as the creator of the promotion.

#4 Football

Drake wants Josh's image to be more "cool", and convinces him to be on the football team. Josh does so, but not the way Drake wanted: he becomes the equipment manager. He is well liked by the team, until Megan sabotages the brownies he makes for them, and the star player gets violently ill. The coach forces Josh to fill in for the player so the team does not have to forfeit.

Drake and Josh get the football-player turned janitor-with-a-head-injury to fill in for Josh (who is afraid of playing), Zeek Braxton, offering him $10,000 with the knowledge that he will soon forget the arrangement. At the game, he gets injured again, undoing his first head injury, and causing him to remember everything, including the money. Josh must therefore fill in. Josh gets hurt himself, but unknowingly scores the winning touchdown, when a member of the other team tackles him, sending him flying over the touch line and Josh becomes, once again, the team hero.

#5 Pool Shark

When Josh learns that he is great at billiards, Drake realizes he can make some money from it. His plan is to tell people Josh is bad at the game, then bet people he will win. They will, of course, bet that Josh will lose, and be forced to give their money to Drake.

This goes on for a while, until Josh discovers what is going on. He vows never to play pool again.

Later, when the boys are walking to a shop to buy their mother a birthday present, they pass a pool hall. Josh tells Drake to follow him in, and that they will try the gambling thing again. They bet two large men $200 that they will win, even though they just were trying to prove how bad they were. They win the bet, but the men are on to the trick.

Just when Drake gets worried he is about to be beat up by the men, Josh reveals that they were his camp counselors and it was all a trick to give Drake a taste of his own medicine.

#6 Smart Girl

Drake starts dating a girl who is much smarter than he is. He must keep her convinced that he is just as smart, and that he shares her interests. Josh teaches Drake a few things, such as the noble gases. Drake later must compete on his girlfriends' team in a "Quizbowl"-esque competition.

Meanwhile, Josh is planning revenge on Megan but she manages to stay a step ahead of him. Drake discovers that she bugged their room, and takes it upon himself to talk to her. This soon becomes his advantage when he manages to borrow Megan's radio system so Josh can give him the answers in the 'academic bowl'. Josh radios him the answers for a large portion of the competition. However, public radio signals toward the end interrupt the ones Josh is sending. Fortunately, the final question is: "Name the noble gases." Drake does, and wins the competition. He then decides to admit to his girlfriend that he is really not that smart.

#7 Little Diva

When a movie star comes to The Premiere for the premiere of her movie, "Kid President", Josh is chosen to act as her personal assistant. Josh is excited at first, as he is a big fan, but then realizes that it is not a fun job.

Later, just before the premiere, she gets knocked out with a bucket (Megan's fault) at the Parker-Nichols house. Drake and Josh take her to The Premiere in her unconscious state, and manage to get though most of the premiere. Of course, when she wakes up, the entire incident must be explained to her.

#8 Blues Brothers

Walter gets Josh a job at the weather station where he works, and Megan gets jealous and reminds Josh of the fourth-grade twitch, where he embarrassed himself in front of everyone. Josh gets nervous and starts twitching. Meanwhile, Drake and his band are practising at The Premiere for the Talent Show, where they are singing a slower vesion of "I Found A Way". On the talent show, the song is stolen and acted upon by the Belleview Choral Society. However, Drake asks his mother to get Drake and Josh's Blues Brothers costumes, and they end up singing "Soul Man" as a tribute to the Blues Brothers. Drake and Josh win the talent show, and a girl says about a "three-peat" she predicted. Thus, the talent show is won by the Brothers and Josh gets over his twitching problem.

#9 Driver's License

The boys' dad, Walter, is very excited that both of his sons are going to get driver's licenses. He warns that if they get a ticket, he will take away their licenses. Drake fails the test, and doesn't get his license. Josh runs a stop sign and gets a ticket, which Drake pays for. In return, Josh is forced to drive Drake around. Later, when Drake wants to impress a girl, he tells her that he has a driver, "Chives", who turns out to be Josh. During the ride, Drake and Josh switch positions, so that Drake is driving. He gets pulled over by a cop (played by Erik Estrada), for having broken taillights, and, of course, has no license. He explains that Josh was driving most of the way, and ends up getting a ticket.

#10 Number One Fan

The plot follows a girl named Wendy (played by Alyson Stoner, who played the part of Sally on Mike's Super Short Show on Disney Channel) who is a friend of Megan's from her Campfire Kids troop. Wendy has a crush on Drake, and starts interfering with his school life, love life, and becomes generally annoying. Later, Drake is going to be on the Star 99 songwriter's spotlight, where he has the opportunity to play one of his songs on the radio. When he gets there he realizes he doesn't have a guitar pick and he reaches down in his pocket to see if he has one and finds an apology note from Wendy. Earlier Drake had yelled at her to leave him alone because she put his poster up regarding the Star 99 gig all over one of his classrooms. When he reads the note he starts to feel bad about what he said. In the end, Drake gives in, and makes her dream come true to sing a song "just for her".

Trivia

The song Drake performs is called "Down We Fall" and was written by Drake Bell and Michael Corcoran for the show. It appears on the Drake and Josh soundtrack as well as Bell's debut CD, Telegraph.

#11 Mean Teacher

Drake wants to break up with his girlfriend (who has a problem of laughing inappropriately), but can't, as she is his mean English teacher, Mrs. Hafer's, daughter. Drake finds out from Mrs. Hafer that she will send him to summer school if he breaks up with Kelly. Meanwhile, Josh's favorite (yet ugly) shirt seems to bring him good luck, as it gets him video games, a gold ring and watch and a date with a model. One day, Drake and Josh argue over who gets to wear the shirt, as they both need luck on that particular day. So, they split the shirt, each wear half, and both get the luck they want. Megan tells their mother to throw out the shirt, pretending she doesn't know of its "powers". Her real reason is that her pranks didn't seem to work whilst he was wearing it.

#12 The Gary Grill

Prolouge

Drake and Josh explain money when the boxes that they're in start changing size, shape, and rotation. Megan appears and starts goofing with their boxes some more. The she shuts the boxes out and takes over the screen.

Plot

Drake and Josh are lured into a scam, selling "Gary Grills" (mp3 player and grill) that they didn't realize were stolen. They almost get arrested, but Megan saves them by pretending that she wants to sell the grills. Though they have avoided arrest, the boys are still upset when the things they bought with their earnings are confiscated by Gary Coleman, the creator of the grills. He did not take the chair the two bought as he found out Josh sat in it.

#13 Drew & Jerry

Josh befriends Drew, a classmate who is very similar to Drake. Drake tries not to show his jealousy, but then meets Jerry, a Josh-esque classmate. As it turns out, Josh didn't realize how similar he was to Jerry. At the end of the episode, Drew and Jerry are asked to star in a sitcom called Drew & Jerry. Fans may notice that Drew & Jerry is a parody of (or tribute to) Drake & Josh.

Trivia
When Drew and Jerry are offered their own show about two brothers, Drake comments that no one would watch such a show. Because Drake & Josh is about two brothers, this is an example of dramatic irony.
The clip of Drew & Jerry is a reference to the Drake & Josh episode Pool Shark (down to using synonyms for the original lines).

#14 Honor Council
